Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek name is the feminine variant of her father's name, Alan. There are two brothers: Chad (Alanis twin) and Wade. She began playing the guitar and piano when she was 21 years old. Alanis released a single in 1986 named Fate Stay With I (b aspect: Find The Right Man). A Canadian dance-pop singer, she recorded two albums: Alanis (1991), and now Is The Time (1992). Her move to Toronto when she turned 18 and began working with writers and musicians, but this collaboration didn't go as planned. In 1994, she came across the perfect collaborator: producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had previously worked with a variety of performers, including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. The couple moved to LA at the age of 19 years old. Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" on June 13th on the 13th of June, 1995. Alanis's tracks were autobiographical. JLP is the third-highest-seller album ever and has sold more than thirty million times across the globe.
